Race Highlights | 2021 French Grand Prix

Lap 1/53 of the 2021 French Grand Prix | (Formula 1 2021)

Review

"And away we go!" With the first Formula One World Championship held in 1950 at the Silverstone Circuit, as the fifth British Grand Prix, Formula One roots from the European Grand Prix championships of the 1920s and the 1930s.[1] Its governing body is the International Automobile Federation. The most recent race was the 2021 French Grand Prix that was held on the 20th of June at the Circuit Paul Ricard, France, as the seventh round of the season.

In this particular race highlights video published by Formula One, we follow the course of events of 53 laps that took place within about 2 hours. The race was topped in 1:27:25.770 by Max Verstappen from the Netherlands with Red Bull Racing. Followed by his strong competitor, Lewis Hamilton from England with Mercedes.

The race recap is laden with important moments. It is the commentary given in this video that I’d like to review, in general, due to its engaging function for anyone who sits down and listens. The cruciality of live commentary in sports breaks down almost every passing minute of the race, game, or match in real-time. Whether a connoisseur or layperson, good and efficient commentary ensures an understanding of the crux of the situation. What’s happening, who’s in the lead, who’s falling back, who’s having technical difficulties, and so on. Plus, when it comes to viewership and the radio, sports reviews and ratings, like any consumer product, are valuable statistics and sources of revenue to confederations and agencies.

For two hours, and considering the weather conditions, there is a lot for a commentator to analyse and emotionally yell about. Motor racing definitely is a high-end sport, capital intensive, and is built up of the skill and strategies required for driving at otherwise life-threatening speeds as a job. Also talk about some pretty pricey tickets to the races (Hey! Supply and demand + hosting fee + xyz) Or as a British user asked on Quora, “Why are they so bloody expensive?”

Beyond the yelling and shouting, and the anticipation of anxious spectators are the strategies and technicalities followed by race car driving, as well as the pillars of racing competitions. Sports have a place and respectability in society. To maintain this respectability is the need for transparent communication through all channels. For televised sports coverage, the spontaneity and adept judgement of sports commentators during a live broadcast are listened to and trusted. It’s all about epic racing.
